The Hendry Group seek to reduce the environmental impact of our daily choices in going about our work. We are committed to the integration of sustainable business principles and have developed long term practices that meet our present needs whilst minimising the impact on the needs of future generations.
Daily initiatives and actions of staff will contribute to the
success of this policy, and all new staff are educated on
sustainability matters.
Our General Manager has been nominated as the Sustainability
Coordinator to manage the implementation of the policies and
procedures that stem from our commitment, including organising
training for all employees and maintaining awareness of the
importance of the policy. The Hendry Group regularly re-evaluates
its current practices, and encourages all staff to develop ideas of
improving performance, and motivates staff to move towards
sustainable practices.
Considerations in achieving best sustainable practices are made in the purchase of supplies, equipment and services. Examples of these criteria are: examining the potential for recycling, biodegradability, waste minimisation, exploring hazardous-chemical free alternatives, energy and resource conservation and the preference for locally manufactured supplies.
Our initiatives include:
Where practical, benchmarks are established that can measure paper use; recycled supplies; quantity of recyclable office waste; and energy used. This will be reported regularly, with a view to minimising our impact on the environment.
